R&D & technical management in the petroleum, organic chemical and polymer industries till about 5 years ago. Simultaneous part time engagement with the academia (lectures, editing text books, examinations, thesis evaluations, membership of board of studies and academic council, etc).
Translation of Sanskrit and Tamil classics, research into classics, study of Vedanta, Indian culture and miscellaneous freelance writing efforts since 2003.

The Hindu reported the sad passing away around last midnight of an eminent Sri Vaishna Acharya , Sri Narayana Yateendra Mahadesikan, who held the position of the 45th Azhagiyasingar or titular head of the Ahobila Matha with great dignity for nearly 22 years.
