Ganapati dyAnam sloka Vishnu, who is dark in color, holds/bears the white speckled Universe's expanse. He reflects the energy/consciousness/shiva differently in different matter forms/beings(jana), creating them and the entire Universe. Since he has no color of his own (dark), but reflects, he is called moon-colored (sasi-varnam).
He evolves the Universe with four arms (sattva/conch, rajas/wheel, tamas/mace, nirguna/lotus). All our disturbances quieten, when we meditate on Vishnu as we realize his reflecting and protecting nature. When Lord Janardhana is invoked in our heart, our mind quietens, we 'work' to overcome any obstacle says Skanda purana (1.63.62) Ganapati is the Lord of all work.
Ganapati dhyAnam is the meditation to focus on our work. Hence the sloka sukla ambara dharam that invokes Vishnu's face to quieten our disturbances and help us focus on work is called Ganapati dhyAnam. ShAantAkAram bhujanga sayanam from VSN Vishnu divides into four (manas, buddhi, ahamkara, cittam), has four 'atma' (sarvajna, ekibhuta prajna, antah-prajna, bahis-prajna).
